Will there be more funds in the future?

The current version of the CivicSpatial program is being run as a three-year pilot program to evaluate the benefits of using a funding program to improve data and provide value back to local governments for their contributions. Admittedly, the grant amounts are not large however it is hoped that by demonstrating the effectiveness of this pilot program that more funding will become available in the future. It is expected that the CivicSpatial program can be run as an on-going program that local governments can repeatedly apply to fund different spatial data projects in their area beyond the current three-year initiative.
